New York City’s three mayoral candidates, Independent Andrew Cuomo, Democrat Zohran Mamdani, and Republican Curtis Sliwa, faced off in the first general election debate in the city’s mayoral race. During the two-hour-long debate, the candidates clashed over a variety of issues including experience, how to deal with Donald Trump and how they would respond if the US president sent the National Guard into New York City.
